From Cape Cod to NYC: Refreshed, Recharged, and Ready to Film!

After a much-needed getaway and a whirlwind trip to New York, I’m back behind the camera and more inspired than ever for this year’s wedding season.
My wife and I kicked off June with a peaceful escape to Cape Cod—our first real chance to slow down and soak in some coastal air before things get busy again. The food? Absolutely next level. We found some gems I’m still dreaming about:
The Black Cat Tavern served up the best fish and chips I’ve ever had, and the clam chowder? Out of this world.
Hangar B Eatery surprised us with not just amazing breakfast, but the fact that it’s literally inside an aircraft hangar. Wild!
And we wrapped it up with a stunning beachfront dinner at The Ocean House—the kind of meal that feels like a movie scene.
But the creative recharge didn’t stop there. From the calm of Cape Cod, I jumped right into the buzz of New York City to attend the BILD Conference, hosted by the legends over at B&H Photo & Video. While I was bummed that Peter McKinnon couldn’t make it, the event was a dream for any filmmaker. I got to:
Test out the newest gear and tech
Chat with fellow creatives—from wedding filmmakers to commercial video producers
Soak in some serious inspiration for what’s possible behind the lens
Oh—and as a total bonus, I accidentally stumbled into the F1 Movie premiere while in NYC and got to see the drivers arrive. Shoutout to my buddy @MikeLucas for the crash course on F1 (he even got me hooked on the Netflix series). I’m fully in now.
Looking Ahead: Storytelling with a Fresh Lens
These past few weeks reminded me just how powerful storytelling really is—whether it’s a quiet breakfast with someone you love, the energy of a live event, or the vows shared on a wedding day.
So, here’s to new perspectives, inspired storytelling, and bringing even more intention to every wedding I film this season.
If you or someone you know is getting married in 2025 (or even late 2024), now’s the time to lock in your date. I’d be honored to help you tell your story.
Thanks for following along—and stay tuned. Some amazing wedding films are coming your way soon.
